What's a Roadmap Session?

The WELLNESS ROADMAP is a tool to guide your process of self development and growth.

Imagine you met an experienced personal trainer, wellness coach, and happiness expert at a cocktail party and you hit it off.  What would you ask them?  What advice would you seek?  What burning questions would you get their $.02 on?

Hi, I'm Darlene!

(Scroll down for all the credentials and stuff.  They're important - but they're only part of the reason smart, growth-oriented people like yourself work with me.)

I've been in The Helping People Business for 13 years - but my journey starts earlier than that.  When I was 23 I was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition that affects my joints & told to prepare myself for a life on the couch.  That didn't sound very fun to me ~ so I set off to learn everything I could about the care and maintenance of my body.  I intuitively knew that if I could keep healthy and strong at least I'd have a shot of doing all the things I wanted to do.  That led me into the fitness industry and I spent the next years as a personal trainer.  And a pretty good one if-i-do-say-so-myself (don't only take my word for it... my clients were happy, too.)

In my mid 30s some personal challenges helped me realize: I'd spent most of my life focused on surviving.  I grew up in poverty, was the first in my family to get a 4 year degree, and then the onset of my illness - I knew what it was like to get through hard times.  I worked hard to make sure I didn't go back there - I knew how to survive.  

About that time I was introduced to Positive Psychology & the science of wellbeing.  I experienced a massive shift in belief and mindset ~ and the resulting transformational growth changed my life and the lives of my clients.

I realized many of the people I had trained and coached over the years were stuck.  Stuck surviving instead of thriving.

I felt so strongly about it that I got a Master's degree in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.  Seriously!  My grandfather didn't finish the 5th grade and here I was a teaching assistant to Dr Martin Seligman!  

Since then I've been helping clients not just figure out the right habits, but shift their thinking to make more successful and sustainable change.
